I'm glad this is fake, because if it wasn't I might have to vote for them.

Sam Harris on Sarah Palin

Sam Harris reimagines the Charlie Gibson-Sarah Palin interview:

"Governor Palin, are you ready at this moment to perform surgery on this child's brain?"

"Of course, Charlie. I have several boys of my own, and I'm an avid hunter."

"But governor, this is neurosurgery, and you have no training as a surgeon of any kind."

"That's just the point, Charlie. The American people want change in how we make medical decisions in this country. And when faced with a challenge, you cannot blink."

Sooo hot. Want to touch the open-source, heavily Google integrated heiney. This phone/os might actually convince me to start paying my own cell phone bill. It has GPS for compass controlled street view and push Gmail. PUSH GMAIL!!! RUDIMENTARY AUGMENTED REALITY!!!

BRT

They're setting up a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system on Cedar Ave. in some of the south suburbs. It's a pretty cool idea. Take a look at a presentation.

We're gonna make it after all

I love the Mary Tyler Moore show. If you haven't watched it for a while, give it another shot. This is the first episode, from Hulu.

FIRST!

So I'm taking an online class called Internet Communication Tools and Issues, and for it I have to review Blogger as a service. I've never been much of a blogger, I doubt most people want to hear what I have to say, but I do have an account (I've signed up for pretty much every heavily used web application, whether I think I'll use it or not, just to check them out) so I'm making this post to just see how it works.

I'll put a photo below this to see how to do that:

"Fo' real?"

Ok that took me a few tries to figure out how to get it to move where I wanted, but it wasn't too bad. And captioning that was the first I've played with the text. It's pretty simple, but some more font size options would be nice. It only offers six sizes, from smallest to Largest and I don't think that will be enough variation for people who are only going to use the wysiwyg editor. I'm sure you can make it bigger or smaller in the html.

How about a linked picture? I know how to do it in html, but how easy is it to do just using Blogger?

Brought to you by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Police Departments and the Republican Party

Ok that was pretty easy. You can just highlight the picture and click the "Link" button and a dialog box pops up to enter the URL in.

There don't seem to be many other things you can do in the wysiwyg editor, except
  • Unordered (Bullet) Lists.
But with so many places online that will generate HTML/CSS code for blogs, it wouldn't take long for someone with no web design/coding experience to use blogger to make a pretty good looking blog.
